Thank you for your interest in the growing field of marijuana cultivation
and production. To provide you with some background of Blossum Group LLC and the
marijuana market in Nevada, I am providing a brief legal and company background.
COMPANY
Blossum Group LLC is a Nevada limited liability company that was
awarded provisional licenses for a cultivation facility and a production facility
in Unincorporated Clark County in November 2014. Both facilities have recently received
their Final Registration Certificate from the State of Nevada, Department of Health
and Human Services, Division of Public and Behavioral Health, and will begin operations
in the near future.
MEDICAL MARIJUANA OVERVIEW
Nevada voters legalized medical marijuana in 2000, but it wasn't
until 2013 that SB 3741 was passed by the Nevada State Legislature which really
created the framework for sale, cultivation and production of medical marijuana
in the State. Under Nevada law four licenses were created: Cultivation facility,
Facility for the production of edible marijuana products or marijuana-infused products,
Medical marijuana dispensary and independent testing laboratory
CULTIVATION
The Cultivation license allows for the growing of medical marijuana
which can be sold to cultivation, production or dispensary license holders.
PRODUCTION
The Production license allows for creation of edible marijuana products,
marijuanainfused products3 and concentrated cannabis. These products can only be
sold to dispensary license holders.
DISPENSARY
The Dispensary license allows for the sale of medical manJuana which
has been purchased from Cultivation or Production license holders.6
LABORATORY
The Laboratory license allows for the testing of marijuana, edible
marijuana products and marijuana-infused products that are to be sold in the State
of Nevada.
RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA OVERVIEW
In November 2016, the voters in Nevada approved recreational marijuana
for adults 21 years of age or older. As of January 1, 2017, recreational marijuana
is legal in Nevada. Five licenses were created: Marijuana cultivation facility,
Marijuana distributor, Marijuana product
manufacturing facility, Marijuana testing facility and Retail marijuana
store.
CULTIVATION
The Cultivation license allows for the cultivation, processing, and
packaging marijuana, to have marijuana tested by a marijuana testing facility, and
to sell marijuana to retail marijuana stores, to marijuana product manufacturing
facilities, and to other marijuana cultivation facilities, but not to consumers.
